From the Lunchbox- Tips for packing a healthy and yummy lunch for your little one!

It can be so hard to find good, healthy food that your little ones will actually want to eat in their lunchbox. We have listed below some tips that you will hopefully find helpful for packing healthy lunches!

•Involve your child in the planning.- Sit down with your children once a week and plan out their lunches. Odd’s are, if you involve them in the decision making, they will be more likely to eat what they find in their lunchbox.

•Shop for foods that will last all week and prioritize to use the freshest ones first (blueberries and baby carrots should last but raspberries might need to be used right away).

•Stock up on healthy non-perishables.- There are a few staples that are great to keep in the pantry for when fruits and veggies may be starting to turn: almonds, raisins, rice cakes, wheat crackers, canned pumpkin (sprinkle cinnamon, include a spoon!), and granola.

•Make ahead what you can so you can streamline the packing process (savory muffins, hard-boiled eggs, half-sandwich for tomorrow)

Welcome & A Giveaway!

Welcome to the new moms of LCA preschoolers blog! After months of preparation, we are excited that launch day is finally here. Our prayer is that this blog will be a source of encouragement, ideas and fellowship for you.

While some of you may be very familiar with blogging, we know this may be an entirely new concept for others of you. Take a few minutes to click through the different pages and familiarize yourself with the different tabs and ways to connect.

You will notice that there are 4 tabs at the top of the page:

     1) About Us- this tab is for newcomers to the blog or LCA. It gives a brief description of the schools history. It is a great starting point for someone who is completely new to LCA to learn a little bit about the school and its history.
    
     2) Prayer Requests- this is probably our favorite tab. The main goal of this blog is to foster a healthy community among mothers. One of the ways we can do this is to pray for one another. If you go to the Prayer requests tab, you will see an email address that you can send your requests to. These requests can remain anonymous, or can have your name included. It will be exciting to get updates on these and see how the Lord answers our prayers.

     3) Resources- this tab will have links to resources mentioned or used in blog posts as well as resources used by moms on the blog. If you have a great website that you use a lot, please feel free to email it to us and we will add it to the resources tab.  We want to have an exhaustive listing of the best resources for preschool moms available on the web.

     4) Connect- When you click over to this tab you will notice 2 things. The first is that there is a handy button called "email us". When you click on the button, a form opens up for you to fill out and it sends the message directly to us. The second thing you will see are direct links to our facebook pages. Facebook is another great way to connect and get in touch with other LCA families. Click on the link and be sure to "like" the page.

Starting next week, we will start having our weekly blog postings. Some of these will be weekly, while others of them will only show up from time to time. Here is a list of postings we have planned.
